This isn't about escaping - it's about expanding.

You don’t have to choose between a standout business and a life that lights you up.

I just got back from a trip - and for the first time, it didn’t feel like I was escaping my day to day life.

It felt like I was expanding it.

Every experience, the sound of the waves, the vibrant food, the feel of a place that cares about the little things reminded me who I am and what I value.

I thought of you all. A LOT.

Because everywhere I went, I saw leadership.
In the boutique businesses that thrived on the details.
The ones that felt different the moment you stepped in, like they had been designed with you in mind.
And I also saw the ones that had lost their spark… stuck in the noise of big business, missing the human touch.

And it hit me:
This is what we’re doing inside The Modwellship Collective.

Helping you build something that stands out and still feels deeply like you.
Helping you lead in a way that’s rooted, clear, and energizing.
Helping you bring the same care and intention into your business that you bring to your life.

I’m so passionate about this because I know what it’s like to build something from the ground up—
to pour your identity into a business or a role, only to watch it fall apart in a moment.

That experience didn’t just leave me rebuilding the business…
It had me rebuilding myself.

What came out of that season was a new kind of clarity,
That no matter what comes your way, your greatest asset is you and the community around you.

This is the space I wish I had.
A space for bold, thoughtful leaders ready to do it differently.
Leaders stuck between where they are and where they know they’re meant to be.

You don’t have to sacrifice it all to be successful.

When you remember why you’re here, when you infuse innovation with purpose,
and when you have a community who gets it -
that’s when life and business come together in a whole new way.

That’s The Collective.

If you’re ready to lead and live at your next level, this is your invitation.
Let’s build something with the soul of a boutique, with a scalable strategy, and the power to sustain your joy and success.

Stay tuned this week for more details.

Because great leadership doesn’t have to be complicated.
It just has to be solid.

Superfoods and Supplements: Do You Really Need Them?

When it comes to improving our health and wellness, the terms "superfoods", and "supplements" often pop up.  But do we really need them?  Keep reading to learn what these terms mean, their benefits, and when they're necessary.

What are Superfoods?
The term "superfood" is often thrown around in health circles, but what does it really mean?  Superfoods are foods that are particularly rich in vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants.

Examples of Superfoods:

  • Berries (blueberries, strawberries, acai): Packed with antioxidants that help fight inflammation and support brain health
  • Leafy greens (kale, spinach, Swiss chard): High in vitamins A, C, and K, as well as calcium and iron
  • Seeds (chia, flax, hemp): Rich in omega-3 fatty acids, fiber and protein

The Role of Supplements in Nutrition: When Are They Necessary?

While whole foods should be your primary source of nutrients, there are times when supplements might be necessary.  Supplements can help fill gaps in your diet when you're lacking certain nutrients, or when your body has higher-than-average needs.  Some examples include:

  • Vitamin D: If you live in a region with limited sun exposure, or spend a lot of time indoors, you might need a supplement to ensure you're getting enough Vitamin D
  • Omega-3 fatty acids: If you don't consume enough fatty fish, an omega-3 supplement may be helpful for supporting heart and brain health
  • Iron: People who follow a vegetarian or vegan diet may need to supplement with iron

Remember that while supplements can be beneficial in certain situations, they shouldn't be used to replace a balanced diet.  It's always a good idea to consult with your healthcare provider before starting any supplement regimen.

The Importance of Real Whole Foods

When it comes to optimal nutrition, whole foods should always be the priority.  Whole foods are packed with nutrients that work synergistically to support your health in ways that isolated nutrients from supplements simply cannot.  For example, vitamin C in oranges isn't just about the vitamin - it's also paired with fiber, antioxidants, and other nutrients that enhance its absorption and effectiveness in your body.

Nutrient-Rich Whole Foods

  • Avocados: Full of healthy fats, fiber, and essential vitamins like potassium
  • Nuts and seeds: High in healthy fats, protein, and various vitamins and minerals
  • Root vegetables: Carrots, sweet potatoes, and beets are full of fiber, vitamins, and antioxidants

Actionable Challenge: Experiment with a New Superfood!

This week, challenge yourself to add one new superfood to your meals.  It doesn't have to be complicated - small changes can make a big difference.  Try sprinkling chia seeds on your morning yogurt, adding spinach to a smoothie, or cooking with turmeric for an anti-inflammatory boost.

Remember, nourishing your body with whole, nutrient-rich foods is the best way to thrive, and superfoods and supplements can play a supportive role when needed.  Experiment with a new food, and see how you feel!

S.O.L.I.D. Leader: A Simple Way to Show Up and Lead with Confidence

Ever wonder why some leaders inspire action while others just manage tasks? It’s not luck, it’s a skill.  And you can develop it too. Plus, it feels great to BE a SOLID leader.

Some leaders have it, they walk into a room, and people trust them, respect them, and follow their lead.  They create momentum, inspire action, and build teams that thrive.  It doesn’t happen by accident.

That’s why we created the S.O.L.I.D. Leadership Framework, a simple way to remind you how to show up and lead with confidence.

Being a S.O.L.I.D. Leader isn’t about having all the answers, it’s about:

✔️ Showing up with purpose and energy
✔️ Opening up to build trust and strong relationships
✔️ Lifting others so the whole team grows
✔️ Investing deeply in people, not just outcomes
✔️ Dialing in to focus on what truly moves the needle

We also put together a guide with quick wins so you can start applying these principles right away.

At some point, the business needs you to lead differently than what got you here.
When I stepped into the President role, I thought I understood what the responsibility would require. I had spent years inside the business, starting as a retail and marketing specialist and growing through multiple leadership roles to SVP. I knew how the business worked. I knew the people. I knew how to carry responsibility. What I hadn’t fully grasped was how much I would need to change. The ...
A quick note about the Pulse
I want to share something with you about this space, about The Pulse. In a world where I’m constantly told to write shorter captions, be more edgy, create more scroll-stopping hooks, and chase attention on social media…this is not that space. And that’s intentional. I believe part of what’s happening in our businesses and on our teams right now is that we’re losing perspective in all the noise....

Hi friends, It's only two full weeks into the new year, and for many people, things already feel full. Some of that fullness is exciting and motivating.New ideas. Momentum.  Building what's next. And some of it feels like you never quite get to put things down. Not busy in the "wow, I'm getting so much done" way, but full in the too many things pulling at you at once way.
